5/11/2023 0 Comments Poznanski erebos 2So as a lifelong fan of video games, I was looking forward to picking up Erebos, by Ursula Poznanski. I play a mean Pikachu and Toon Link in Super Smash Bros.: Brawl, and can still remember the first time my friend R and I beat final boss Master Hand in the original Super Smash Bros. At various times, my brother, father, and I have simultaneously played computer games like Morrowind, City of Heroes, and of course, World of Warcraft. I cut my baby teeth on the Sega Genesis (and totally dominated at Sonic 2 and The Lion King), graduated to the Playstation, and fell in love with the GameCube. With a gamer for a dad, we grew up always having computer and video games around the house.

5/11/2023 0 Comments Get a life talia hibbertShe wondered if insurance would cover it, or if the driver would have to. She wondered how much the repairs to the coffee shop would cost. Her mind flooded with irrelevant data, as if her head were a trash folder. People buzzed by her, and time ticked on, but she barely noticed. Bystanders swarmed and there were shouts to call an ambulance. The middle-aged lady in the driver’s seat slumped against an airbag, her crisp, blond bob swinging. The drunk driver’s head-on collision with a brick wall missed being a head-on collision with a flesh-and-blood Chloe by approximately three feet. Instead, the Range Rover flew past her and slammed into the side of a coffee shop. She wasn’t even horribly injured-which was a relief, because she spent enough time in hospitals as it was. So when Chloe heard shouts and the screech of tires, and looked to her right, and found a shiny, white Range Rover heading straight for her, her first ridiculous thought was: I’ll die on a Tuesday, and Dani will have to admit that I was right all along.īut in the end, Chloe didn’t actually die. Dani had told Chloe that she was cracked, and that she should try positive affirmations to rid herself of her negative weekday energy. Chloe suspected that day of the week was cursed, but thus far, she’d only shared her suspicions via certain internet forums-and with Dani, the weirdest of her two very weird little sisters. Disturbing things always seemed to happen on Tuesdays. It happened on a Tuesday afternoon, of course. Although it's translated the game to be understandable and has decent editing & quality-checking, the game is still full of Moenovel's quality engrish. However, a Restoration Patch by Fuwanovel restore's cut content and properly translates some of the game. Overall, Moenovel's If My Heart Had Wings was the worst example of censoring and cutting a all-age Visual Novel to release in the west. Moenovel's 'localisation' of the eroge when released in 2013 cut & censored all adult content from the game and did a bad translation of the visual novel that get's worse in specific routes like Ageha, making her story a unreadable mess compared to what her route was actually about in the original Pulltop & Fuwanovel patched version. After interacting with childhood and new friends, they join the school's Gliding Club & the story takes off them there in a pretty good romance Visual Novel. If My Heart Had Wings is a 30+ Hour Romance Eroge Developed by Pulltop about Minase Aoi returning to his hometown after a cycling accident. 5/11/2023 0 Comments Dark challenge by christine feehanJulian rushes in to find three of the band members, including Desari, lying amongst blood-spattered instruments. While he revels in his discovery, gunfire rings out on stage. Julian instantly knew he had found his lifemate because of his ability to see in colour, accompanied by the return of emotions. The colours he hadn't seen in over eight hundred years were now vivid and bright. However, upon hearing the singer's hauntingly beautiful voice, he was mesmerized. Believing this to be his last task to his Prince, Mikhail, Julian was prepared to greet the dawn and his own destruction. Julian Savage, the twin brother of Aidan ( Dark Gold), is sent to warn a young singer, Desari, that she and her band have come under suspicion by a fanatical vampire hunting society. It is the first book in a trilogy written within the Dark Series, and it starts several months after the events in Dark Magic. Dark Challenge is the fifth book in the paranormal romance series Dark Series by American author Christine Feehan. 5/10/2023 0 Comments Fire and Ice by Dana StabenowNow he has a dead archaeologist, murdered at their own dig site, who claimed to be on the verge of a momentous discovery. From the (literally) cutthroat business of commercial fishing, to the paranoid misanthropy of the back-country prospector, to drug dealers, serial killers, and caches of forgotten war gold, he has had his hands full. Campbell didn't expect the job to be simple and it hasn't. Campbell has been exiled from Anchorage to Newenham in disgrace, busted down from sergeant to trooper in the aftermath of a mistake that cost a family of five their lives, to spend some time in the wilderness. It's a wide-enough patch to warrant a state police presence, though, and Trooper Liam Campbell is it. Newenham is an ice-bound bush town with a six-bed jail, a busted ATM and a saloon that does double-duty as a courtroom. The fifth book in Dana Stabenow's Alaskan crime series featuring State Trooper Liam Campbell, now in paperback 5/10/2023 0 Comments Ithaca claire north reviewsNo one man is strong enough to claim Odysseus' empty throne-not yet. But now, years on, speculation is mounting that her husband is dead, and suitors are beginning to knock at her door. Penelope was barely into womanhood when she wed Odysseus. None of them has returned, and the women of Ithaca have been left behind to run the kingdom. Breathtaking." - Jennifer Saint, author of Ariadne Seventeen years ago, King Odysseus sailed to war with Troy, taking with him every man of fighting age from the island of Ithaca. "North brings a powerful, fresh, and unflinching voice to ancient myth. It’s time for the women of Ithaca to tell their tale. Candy, Lauren kept is sleek and sophisticated, playing with proportions by pairing a billowy blouse from Urban Outfitters with structured shorts from Elizabeth and James. LOOK 1: For a signing of her new book L.A. Get the exact looks as pictured above after the jump! Lauren has donned tons of amazing ensembles recently, but I narrowed in my four favorites for this edition of celeb style inspiration. Her clothes always fit perfectly, the shades always compliment her complexion, and she never looks like she’s trying to be anything. One thing I especially admire about Lauren is that she knows exactly what works for her and always stays true to herself with her choices. A sharp blazer to toughen up a flirty frock, a Chanel bag to add some high-fashion to a downtown-hipster look, subtle accessories to keep from overpowering a strong outfit- when it comes to chic minimalism, this girl is the master. She definitely loves floaty dresses and bold prints, but always maintains a balance with her ensembles, never going too far with a motif. Lauren’s style is rooted in a feminine and flirty sensibility with a bit of an edge. In her new book, A Strange Stirring: The Feminine Mystique and American Women at the Dawn of the 1960s, social historian Stephanie Coontz adds a new approach to the significant body of scholarship on Friedan's famous work. Forty-eight years after women (and men) read the book for the first time, The Feminine Mystique remains incendiary for some, while others dismiss Friedan's representation of the 1950s and early 1960s as oversimplified, exaggerated, and misguided. Detractors vilified the book and its author for belittling marriage and motherhood supporters exalted it for freeing women from the domestic abyss and still others credited the book with igniting a feminist revolution. Rarely has a book been as reviled and revered as Betty Friedan's 1963 best seller, The Feminine Mystique. She is the author of more than two hundred books for children of all ages, two of which have received Englands Carnegie Medal and others of which have garnered numerous citations from the American Library Association. As her past finally catches up with her, she too must choose which path to take.Įxquisitely written, and gripping until the very last page, this is a masterpiece of moral complexity, asking us profound questions about mercy, redemption, and how to make the best of our conflicted world. Despite her scepticism, Helen can’t stop reading, or shake the feeling that someone or something is watching her. Condemned to walk the Earth forever, she tries to beguile the guilty and lure them away for a lifetime wandering alongside her.Įveryone that Melmoth seeks out must make a choice: to live with what they’ve done, or be led into the darkness. It is filled with testimonies from the darkest chapters of human history, which all record sightings of a tall, silent woman in black, with unblinking eyes and bleeding feet: Melmoth, the loneliest being in the world. But the sheltered life she has crafted for herself is about to change.Ī strange manuscript has come into her possession, and its contents have the power to unravel every strand of her fragile safety net.
